Why I Love… My Pie Maker

The pie maker has often been one of those applicances that can sit for months unused and no doubt many a reader has a forgotten pie maker in the depths of their cupboards or long ago sold one/donated one/gave one away. But I have realised that the pie maker can be a life saver for a big (young) family…. left over mince and pastry sheets can make a quick filling lunch, and crockpot meat stew can be used the following night for individual dinners.
I’ve learnt that when you have a big family, making your own is significantly cheaper – and we’re a typical kiwi family who love pies!! So now I keep frozen pastry sheets on hand for a quick and easy dinner – chicken, apricot and brie; beef and beer; even bacon and egg. . . !!
